London Business SchoolLondon Business School describes itself as drawing strength from “the hunger and dynamism of London”, with access to incredible cultural diversity and some of the most successful businesses in the world.

It’s certainly true that the school is a place for students who are eager and willing to put in the hard work to advance their career – and a lot of it.

Classes at LBS take place Monday through Thursday, with additional lectures and leadership programs on Fridays, exams often taking place over the weekend, and breaks filled with additional projects and global learning opportunities.

In addition, London Business School students must demonstrate Level 2 language certification in one of the school’s 15 accepted languages, in addition to English mastery.

Language courses are available as electives, but students are strongly encouraged to begin language study before entering the MBA program if English is their only language.

In return for the intense pacing and rigorous environment of the school, London offers students the opportunity to take part in one of the world’s top MBA programs, with an experience tailored to their goals and career path. Students are able to design their coursework to complete a full-time MBA degree in 15, 18, or 21 months.

The school also offers Global Business Experience programs in five locations: Johannesburg, Mumbai, Istanbul, Hong Kong, and Boston/ New York, as well as an international exchange program at more than 30 partner schools worldwide. 

Curriculum Overview

The full-time MBA program at London Business School is designed to be a heavily experiential program, with many opportunities for students to get involved in addressing real world problems.

London Business School divides its core programs for year one into three categories, designed to give students a thorough background in the skills needed to be an effective leader. “Tools and Techniques” courses include Corporate Finance, Financial Accounting, Managerial Economics, Strategy, and Data, Models, and Decisions.

“Managing the Organisation” courses include Operations Management, Marketing, Management Accounting, and Managing Organisational Behavior. “Engaging with the World” courses include Global Business Environment, London Business Experience, Discovering Entrepreneurial Opportunities, and Business, Government, and Society.

Important Dates & Application Deadlines

Applications for the London Business School class entering in August 2016 are not yet available. The school typically accepts applicants in four rounds, with deadlines in October, January, February, and April.

Tuition Cost

As of August 2015, MBA tuition fees at London Business School are £67,750, which includes all tuition fees as well as required reading materials. The school makes a number of scholarships available to students who need assistance with the fees, and offers loan and external scholarship information as well.

Employment Info

Graduates of the London Business School find post-MBA employment around the world, from Asia to Europe to South America to the UK. For the graduating class of 2014, 93% of students accepted a job offer within three months of graduation.

Students were recruited by companies like The Boston Consulting Group, Amazon, Citi, and Accenture; in addition, 26 graduates were self-employed or started a business of their own.

The mean starting salary for London Business School graduates was £70,826 ($119,225), with a sign-on bonus of £17,749 ($29,878). The corporate sector was the most common destination for graduates, with 40% of accepted offers, followed by consulting (32%) and finance (28%).
